Fall is officially here and I am SO excited. Fall is definitely my favorite season. That crisp air and change of leaves just makes me so happy. Plus, warm drinks, getting cozy and sweaters/scarfs are just so fun.
This year becuase we won't be able to do some of our favorite things (I'm looking at you pandemic), I'm trying to make things just a little more special for my kids.
We made a fall bucket list and we're hoping to check everything off the list!
I've been doing some hand lettering when I find the chace and it's been so soothing and relaxing practicing the letters. It's nothing fancy, just making something special we can look at.
If you're interested in trying the land lettering on chalkboard, I have a few quick tips I've been reading up on.
1. Make sure to season your board with chalk. Turn it on its side and rub it all over the board. Then take a cloth and rub it all in to smooth it out.
2. I used a sharpie chalkboard pen do the lettering. I used a pencil to lightly draw a rough sketch and then wrote over it. The best thing about using chalk, is that you can erase if you make a mistake! I made a few tiny mistakes and wanted to quickly fix them, so I just used a wet q-tip to erase them. Easy!
I also made a fall basket for the kids to open to kick off the season.
I included some jammies for the girls, new socks, treats for some apple cider drinks (candy corn, sprinkles & pumpkin pie marshmallows!) and a couple fall books for their bookshelves.
These cool sunny fall days have been SO amazing, and we're hoping the weather holds up for lots more fun!
