Decorating our Christmas tree is one of my absolute favourite days. I love our tree decorating tradition. I always make hot cocoa and we slowly decorate our tree while snacking on treats in the morning.

We always get the tree set up at least a day before our decorating day (otherwise it feels way too overwhelming) so in the morning we can just concentrate on doing one day of decorating.

And I love classic pajamas for the perfect festive feel! We love ones from City Threads. They are so soft and comfy (the kids always say how comfy they are!) and I love that they have all over solid colors. They are perfect for the whole family to wear and I love that they have all the sizes. That means all the kids can wear matching ones!

I love how they look together and feel so festive with the pops of red. Something about decorating in pajamas feels extra cozy, right?

These sweet days are made of memories I hope I always remember.

Ever since I started reading Harry Potter with my son, I've fallen in love with all the amazing details of the books. Its so magical and mysterious, and just pulls on your imagination.

I've been wanting to throw a Harry Potter inspired party for a while now, and I'm so excited to share the details of our very first fall feast. We invited a few close friends over (Who also love HP!) and had a really fun evening together. We had a potion making class, fall feast (pizza...the perfect party food!) and then a movie showing afterwards.

I really wanted to make the dinner table feel like a Hogwarts feast. The floating candles made the whole table glow and I loved the soft effect it made.

Each table setting included Harry's signature glasses, a pouch with Gold Galleons & a pin for them to keep. I love using props and small gifts as part of the decor that guests get to take home as well.

We had Sorting House cupcakes, which were essentially store bought cupcakes filled with different colors for each of the houses. The guests each got to choose one and when they were eating them they got to see what house they would have been sorted into. I loved how fun this was. Some of the kids already knew what houses they were part of, but it was still really exciting and I just told them that the cupcakes may not be as accurate as the sorting hat.

My sweet friends each brought a treat - spooky jell-o & the cutest owl/lightening bolt sugar cookies. They brought the whole theme together!

We did one activity before dinner which was a hit! The kids got to make their very own magical potions. I soaked water beads in water to plump them up, and we used them as a base for our potion making. I got glass jars from the dollar store and the kids filled them up with water beads. Then we added a variety of specialty viles which were filled with glitter and sequins. They kids loved this activity!

And of course for our movie night we had to have a variety of treats. I hand painted the Honeydukes sign, and we had jars of candies for the guests to snack on during the party and movie showing.

The kids have been so excited leading up to this party. And we honestly had the best time. A smaller group made it extra fun and I hope we get to continue this tradition for years to come. .

And I have to share some small shops who helped with the most amazing table setting and décor for our little party.
