I'm so excited to be sharing this week's post of Outfits and Authors!

Some of our most favorite outfits are inspired by the books we read. We are no strangers to bunny-love around here! And this little roundup is so perfectly suited to one of our most loved books Peter Rabbit. Both girls love the stories of Peter Rabbit and his adventures into Mr. McGregor's vegetable garden.

SUMMER BEACH-Y DAYS!

Although we are definitely a west coast family, we don't get to the beach as often as we should! Sometimes a splash pad or park day just seems a bit easier.

But a few weekends ago I was able to make it to the beach with just the girls, and it was SO much fun. There was something for everyone and time just seemed to pass by so quickly.

HOUSEWARMING GIFTS & PRETTY WINE WRAPPING

One of my besties recently bought a new home and has been doing renos for the last 2 months. Its still not a finished product yet, but we popped in for a summer visit on the weekend.

I wanted to bring her a small housewarming because it was the first time we had visited her new home. We decided on a half apron from a local shop, cute pot holders, handled cutting board and some BC wine. I love giving small kitchen items. I find that personally I usually don't purchase house and homewares for myself that often, and it's always a special treat when someone gifts it to me!

We are continuing our weekly posts on our favorite outfits inspired by books!

This week we're featuring Today by Julie Morstad. This book is such a wonderful book for reading with your children. It takes simple daily activities and offers your child endless opportunities to pick what their favorites would be. The illustrations are SO lovely - and Maddie loves looking at the pictures and picking what she would love to do on any given day.

OUTFITS AND AUTHORS!

Books have always found a welcome home in our house. All our children have loved reading since they were babies - and I am so thankful that they still do! Since summer has brought us much more time at home, we've been implementing quite reading time each day. My son Ben who is 7, is reading 30-40 min a day on his own. And I've been encouraging Maddie who is 4, to pick out 4 books a day and read them on her own. She sometimes puts up a little fight, but more often than not she is happy to do so in the afternoon.

As a small shop owner at Petite Littles, I do love styling little kids outfits. (It seems to come with the territory!) And since we also have quite a little collection of favorite and borrowed books in our home now, I'm very excited to be sharing a new series Outfits and Authors. I'll be highlighting one book and one handmade outfit each week. I can't wait to share some of our favorite book and handmade shops in this process!

The first of the series is GASTON by Kelly Dipucchio. Such a cute little story about a bulldog and a poodle who find their deep love for their own families, despite their appearances. The illustrations in this book are also so sweet and adorable. Maddie and Ellie love looking at all the cute little pups. If you have a puppy-loving little one, you must give this a read.
