We love dressing up in our home, and Halloween makes for the perfect time to try something new.
Although I love a fun and cute store bought costume, I thought it would be so fun to make somerhing that the kids could help with. I wanted something they could all be matching in, but also show off their own personalities. We ended up with cute care bear costumes!
My favourite part of these costumes is that you can re-wear the thermals/pajamas after dressing up, and save it for another year.
We chose pajamas from City Threads Kids because they have so many colors to choose from. The kids each picked their own colours, and we started out inspiration from there. We used the pajamas as the perfect base to build on.
The care bear tummies were created with felt, and just hot glued together. Then I attached it onto the pajamas using small safety pins. That way we could reuse them next year if we wanted to as well.
The bear ears were made using headbands and felt that was glued on. I love the cute personality it adds to the costumes.
The girls ended up loving their costumes and I can't wait for them to wear them out.
Hope this gives you a bit of inspiration for a fun and easy diy Halloween costume!
