Fall is here! And if you knew that strawberry picking is one of my favorite summer activities, you won't be surprised to learn that apple picking is at the top of my list for fall. Nothing really beats being outside in the crisp air, picking delicious local apples and snacking on hot apple cider.
I took the girls the other day to one of our local apple farms for the day. It was a gorgeous sunny day with a slight breeze. Pretty much fall perfection.

They loved the idea of picking apples from trees (Maddie kept asking on our way how tall the trees were going to be and if she would be able to reach the apples!). Last year picked honeycrisp apples, and they have been a favorite! Once they picked their first apple, they took a bite out of it right away. And then snack time began!
After picking apples, we checked out the corn maze and visited the little petting zoo. The girls were so excited to see baby goats (Maddie's highlight for sure!). They spent lots of time watching the babies and then finding leafy branches to feed them with. One big girl was especially sad that the big goats were taking leafs from the babies. Such is animal life! (She didn't like that explanation!)

If you've never had a chance to pick apples in fall, I highly recommend it. It's such a fun family activity!
